Welcome to AutoGo.

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) (the “PDPL”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your data when you use our ride-hailing services through our mobile app.

By creating an account or using our app, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

3. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect and process the following types of data to provide you with ride-hailing services:

Account Data: Full name, phone number, email, password, profile photo.
Ride Data: Pickup and drop-off locations, ride history, fare details, payment method.
Location Data: Real-time GPS location (for autonomous vehicles) to match rides and ensure safety.
Device Data: Device ID, app version, operating system, IP address, and language settings.
Payment Data: Card details (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store full card information).
Communications Data: Messages between service centre and riders (via in-app chat), support tickets, feedback.
Optional Data: Referral codes, promotional participation, preferences, or saved locations.
Image: Recording of image via in-vehicle cameras. For safety and regulatory compliance with the Integrated Transport Centre, the autonomous vehicles use internal cameras to monitor passenger status. Data may be recorded for safety assurance and incident investigation, and will be handled in line with UAE data-protection laws.

Note that if you refuse to or have withdrawn your consent to the processing of your personal data, you shall not have the ability to use our services.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only for lawful purposes under the PDPL, including to:

create and manage your account.
match you with nearby autonomous vehicles and complete your ride bookings.
calculate fares, fees and process payments.
handle cancellations, chargebacks, and payment reversals.
enhance safety and monitor ride activity.
provide customer support and resolve issues, including to review and resolve billing questions, complaints and disputes.
send notifications, receipts, refunds, credits, and service updates.
improve app performance and develop new features.
comply with UAE laws, government requests, or court orders.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Your consent (i.e. creating an account and using the mobile app).
Contractual necessity (to provide ride-hailing services).
Legal obligations (e.g. law-enforcement cooperation, compliance with UAE law).
Legitimate interests (e.g. preventing fraud, ensuring safety and service quality).

6. Sharing Your Data

We may share your data only when necessary and lawful:

Parties directly involved in the provision of the ride-hailing services within the application.
Service Providers: hosting, payment processing, analytics, technical improvement, customer support, or mapping services (under strict confidentiality).
Authorities: when required by UAE law or to protect public safety.
Business Transfers: if our company merges or is acquired, your data may transfer with the business (with notice).

7. How We Protect Your Data

Encrypted communication and payment processing.
Access controls and authentication.
Regular security audits and breach response procedures.

If a breach that may harm you occurs, we will notify you and the UAE Data Office (and, as applicable, the relevant delegated authority) as required by law.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed to:

Provide ride-hailing services and handle disputes, or
Comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

After that, your data is securely deleted or anonymised.

9. Your Rights under UAE Law

Request access to your personal data.
Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or unnecessary data.
Restrict or object to processing.
Withdraw consent at any time.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for users aged 18 and above.

If we learn that we have collected data from a child without proper consent, we will delete it promptly.

11. Governing law and dispute resolution

11.1 This Privacy Policy shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applicable in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

11.2 Any disputes, controversies, or claims of any nature (contractual or non-contractual), arising out of or having a connection with this Privacy Policy shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in accordance with the Rules of Arbitration of the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre (the Rules).

11.3 The Emergency Arbitrator provisions as prescribed in Article 35 of the Rules shall not apply. The Expedited Proceedings provisions as prescribed in Article 36 of the Rules shall not apply.

11.4 The number of arbitrators shall be one.

11.5 The seat of arbitration shall be the Abu Dhabi Global Market.

11.6 The language of the arbitration shall be English.

12. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal or operational changes.

We will post the updated version in the app and indicate the new “Last Updated” date.
